Nashik, Jul 15 (UNI) A 21-year-old girl from Vavi taluka, who has been living in Russia for the last three years for medical courses, died in an accident, police said on Thursday.
The family was shocked to learn about this morning. The girl's name is Ashwini Rajendra Gorane and her family members are residents of Dushingwadi near Wavi in Sinnar taluka of the district . Her father works as a lab technician at a primary health center in Wavi. After passing his matriculation examination from KTHM College, Nashik, Ashwini was admitted to the Tambov State Medical University of the Russian Federation in 2017 for an MBBS course.
She has been living there ever since. She was selected in Russia for a medical course after passing the 12th standard with good marks. She was in touch with her family until 2030 hrs on Tuesday night. Her father said that Ashwini hung up the phone, saying that she would sit for study after her family members talk on the phone as usual. However, at around 0700 hrs on Wednesday morning, the mediator of the concerned Russian university in Mumbai got a call and said that Ashwini had fallen into the water while taking a selfie while walking with his friends on the campus of the university.
