Srinagar, Oct 21 (UNI) Six civilians were killed and several others were injured on Sunday, when an un-exploded device went off near Laroo in Kulgam, the site, where three militants were killed in an encounter by security forces, earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) called for a general strike in Kashmir valley on Monday, against Kulgam killings.
A Police Spokesman said that despite warning, the civilians had gathered near the encounter site, where an explosion took place, resulting in civilian casualties.
Advisor to the Governor K Vijay Kumar, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Targami have expressed grief over the Kulgam killings.
A civilian brought to the SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura from Kulgam hospital died on arrival. With this, a total of six people have been killed in the blast, while the condition of some of the injured was still critical.
