Jaipur, April 10 (UNI) Gujarat Titans won the toss and chose to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals in the 24th match of IPL 2024 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Wednesday.
This decision was influenced by factors such as the possibility of rain and the advantage of chasing a target.
However, the match started ten minutes later than scheduled due to light rainfall, though this delay wasn't expected to significantly affect the game.
At the toss, Gujarat captain, Gill, spoke about the challenges of finalising the playing XI due to injuries but mentioned the importance of performing well in crucial moments.
He also announced a couple of changes in the team lineup, with Matthew Wade replacing Kane Williamson and Abhinav Manohar coming in for BR Sharath.
On the other side, Rajasthan captain, Sanju Samson, expressed appreciation for the support from his team and coach Kumar Sangakkara.
Despite their unbeaten streak in the tournament so far, Samson admitted to some confusion regarding the playing XI, which he indicated would be reflected on the team sheet.
With Gujarat opting to field first after winning the toss, the focus shifted to how both teams would navigate the challenges and execute their game plans in the match.
