Organisers confident of keeping TOM in Pune for next 5 years

Pune, Jan 6 (UNI) While the fifth edition of the Tata Open Maharashtra (TOM) has been in the spotlight with an exciting action between world tennis stars, taking place at the Balewadi Stadium, the Tournament Director Prashant Sutar and MSLTA Secretary Sunder Iyer declared that they have the backing of the Maharashtra government and are ready to keep South Asia’s only ATP 250 event in the city for the next five years.
"The Maharashtra government is committed to hosting such big tournaments in the state because Maharashtra has a legacy of organising this. They have been supporting this tournament fully so we are the strong contenders to continue having this tournament for the next five years.
"We also had an internal discussion with the concerned heads and we will go all out. We will also have a discussion with IMG about this as they are also a key stakeholder and understand what they have to say. We will need to have Reliance and IMG on the same page," Sutar told reporters.
