French Ligue 1 kicks off under shadow of coronavirus

Paris, Aug 22 (Xinhua) The new season of the French Ligue 1 raised its curtain, under the stormy clouds of the coronavirus pandemic, as 10-man Bordeaux held a 0-0 draw with Nantes at home in the opening match.
Bordeaux's midfielder Mehdi Zerkane was sent off after 20 minutes for a crude foul on Nicolas Pallois. But the visitors didn't create any good chances with one more player on the pitch. The two teams combined only 11 shots in the game, with only two of which on targets.
