Kohli drops out of top 10 in ICC T20I rankings

Dubai, Nov 24 (UNI) Virat Kohli, who had stepped down from captaincy in the shortest format, dropped out of top 10 in the updated ICC T20I rankings for batters on Wednesday.
Kohli fell three places to take number 11 after taking rest from the concluded three-match T20I series between India and New Zealand.
On the other hand, India opener KL Rahul gained one spot to sit in the fifth position. The wicket-keeper batter played a match-winning knock against New Zealand, smashing a 49-ball 65 in the second game.
Rohit Sharma, who was appointed as full-time India captain in the shortest format, moved up two spots to take number 13 following his consistent performances with the bat.
Deepak Chahar made notable gains, climbing 19 spots to take 40 in bowlers rankings and leapfrogging 83 places to sit in 163rd place. Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar moved up to 19 after gaining five spots. Spin pairing of R Ashwin (up 129 spots to 92) and Axar Patel (up 160 spots to 112) conclude the gains India made in the updated rankings.
New Zealand opener Martin Guptill returned to the top 10 after registering scores of 70, 31 and 51 in the recently concluded three-match T20I series against India. He now sits at number 10 in batters' chart. Guptill's teammate Mitchell Santner made significant improvement in bowlers' rankings, soaring 10 spots to number 13.
Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan gained one spot, moving up to 4th place after scoring 39 and 40 in the second and third T20I against Bangladesh, while batter Haider Ali, who made a note-worthy 38-ball 45 in the final T20I, gained 53 spots to 184.
Bangladesh's Mohammad Naim slipped to number 23, losing three spots while Mahmud Ullah fell one down to number 30. Among the notable gainers from Bangladesh's camp are Afif Hossain (up 29 spots to 85) and Mahedi Hasan (up 46 spots to 255).
Mahedi also made gains in the bowlers chart, moving up six spots to take 12. For Pakistan, Hasan Ali moved 16 spots to 44. Shadab Khan entered the top 15, climbing two spots to number 14 in the bowlers' rankings while in the all-rounders' list, Khan joined England's Ben Stokes at number 44.
