Yathindra Siddaramaiah's remarks against Amit Shah sparks criticism

Bengaluru, Mar 29 (UNI) Yathindra Siddaramaiah's statement accusing Home Minister Amit Shah of criminal activities and linking him to murder charges in Gujarat has sparked off a big controversy, with BJP leaders retaliating by denouncing his remarks.
"He (Amit Shah) faces murder charges in Gujarat. He has a background in criminal activities. But now, he is in a high position in the country”, Yathindra said on Thursday.
Some BJP leaders, especially S Muniswamy (sitting MP from Kolar) suggested that Yathindra's frustration over not receiving a ticket for the Lok Sabha election from Mysuru led him to make such statements.
"Siddaramaiah promised a ticket to Yathindra from Mysuru but didn’t give it to him. He is frustrated and that is why he is saying all this. He is a small kid and has no experience in politics. The more these people talk against the BJP and its leadership, the stronger the BJP becomes," he added.
They emphasized the grassroots political journey of Amit Shah compared to Yathindra, who they claim entered politics on the back of his father's influence.
"He came to politics in the name of his father. Amit Shah is not like that. He worked as booth president at the booth level and then reached the top. He didn’t come to politics in the name of his father. Those who come to power in the name of their father behave like this," BJP leader CT Ravi said.
Furthermore, BJP leaders announced their intent to lodge complaints with the Election Commission and the police against Yathindra for his remarks.
They also called upon Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take action against his son if he seeks to maintain a fair and balanced government.
"Yathindra has used very inappropriate words for Home Minister Amit Shah. We will lodge a complaint with the Election Commission and we will also lodge a complaint with the police," BJP leader N Ravikumar said.
In response, Congress leaders like Yathindra received warnings from within their party, with suggestions that such statements could harm their political careers.
BJP's Suresh Kumar particularly highlighted the potential consequences of such remarks on Yathindra's future in politics. "Yathindra is an educated person. Using words like these for the Home Minister can prove costly for his future in politics," he said.
