Hyderabad, Oct 15 (UNI)Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release Rs.1,350 crore immediately to undertake relief and rehabilitation works in the heavy rains devastated areas in the state including Hyderabad.
In a letter to Mr Modi, Mr Rao said that the state had suffered losses to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore owing to heavy rains and flash floods.
It may be mentioned that the recent heavy rains and flash floods left a trail of death and destruction in parts of the state including the state's capital city claiming at least 30 lives in different parts of the state and causing damage to standing paddy and cotton crops over thousands of acres.
