Coal Secretary lauds NLC India Ltd for exemplary performance

Chennai, Mar 3 (UNI) Union Coal Secretary Amrit Lal Meena has lauded NLC India Limited (NLCIL) for its exemplary performance in achieving over 100% enhancement in their market capitalisation in just one year.
A NLCIL release here said The Union Ministry of Coal took a significant stride towards fostering
indigenous manufacturing of mining equipment with its roadshow in Chennai.
Aligned with the visionary 'Make in India' initiative, the event was attended by key stakeholders from the mining and manufacturing sectors to bolster domestic production capabilities in the mining sector.
The roadshow, held on Saturday garnered a remarkable response from leading mining equipment manufacturers, showcasing a resolute commitment towards realising the objective of an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’
Mr Amrit Lal Meena graced the event as the chief guest. Other dignitaries at the event included Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLC India Ltd; and Dr. B Veera Reddy, Director (Technical), Coal India Ltd.
Mr Amrit Lal Meena lauded the dynamic leadership of Mr Prasanna Kumar Motupalli stating under his able leadership NLCIL has achieved over 100% enhancement in their market capitalisation in just one year. It has almost tripled in that time frame.
"Through this function, I would like to compliment Mr Motupalli and the entire team of NLCIL for their outstanding performance and playing a pivotal role in ensuring the energy security of the country”, he said.
At the event, Mr Amrit Lal Meena also appreciated Coal India Ltd for its performance and underscored the importance of creating an enabling environment for indigenous manufacturing.
He stressed the need for collective action and industry-wide collaboration to harness the full potential of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, positioning India as a global manufacturing and mining powerhouse.
The primary aim of the roadshow was to provide a platform for dialogue and partnerships among
industry stakeholders to boost domestic manufacturing capabilities in the sector. Through
collaborative efforts and innovative strategies, the Ministry of Coal endeavours to bolster self-
reliance and propel sustainable growth across the mining industry in India.
The roadshow provided a ground for the exchange of ideas, best practices, and technological
innovations, also opening avenues for future collaborations and investments in the mining
equipment manufacturing domain.
With participation from numerous manufacturing companies such as BEML, Caterpillar, TATA-
Hitachi, L&T, Komatsu, Gainwell, and major assembly/parts manufacturers, the roadshow was an
indicator of the escalating momentum behind the ‘Make in India’ movement.
NLC India Ltd, in alignment with the 'Make in India' initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, resolves to continue its efforts towards cultivating indigenous manufacturing capabilities within the coal mining sector.
The roadshow underscores the commitment of the Ministry of Coal and its companies towards promoting self-reliance and innovation in the mining equipment manufacturing ecosystem.
