Three workers trapped, 3 rescued after rockslide in 300-ft deep quarry

Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), May 15 (UNI) Six workers were trapped after a huge boulder fell into a 300-feet deep private stone quarry at Adaimithipankulam near Munneerpallam in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday midnight, officials informed on Sunday.
Police said three workers have been rescued so far after the rescue operation was launched by Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services Department personnel with the assistance of rock climbers, while three others remain trapped under the debris at the bottom of the quarry.
The rescued workers Murugan, Vijay and Selvam were treated at the Government Hospital for injuries.
