Sriharikota (AP), Aug 7 (UNI) India's maiden flight of the Small Satellite
Launch Vehicle (SSLV), which will ferry Earth Observation Satellite-2
(EOS-2) and a co-passenger satellite AzaadiSAT into a Low Earth Orbit,
lifts off from the spaceport of Sriharikota.
After a smooth seven hour countdown, which commenced at 0218 hrs
early this morning, the SSLV-D1 (first developmental flight) took off
majestically from the First Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space
Centre (SDSC), SHAR Range, at 0918 hrs, a sight to behold.
