Saina condemns Karnataka Cong MLA Shivashankarappa's sexist remark

Bengaluru, March 30 (UNI) Olympic medalist Saina Nehwal voiced her condemnation on Saturday against remarks made by Karnataka Congress MLA Shamanur Shivashankarappa concerning the female candidate from BJP Gayathri Siddeshwara hailing from Davangere, Karnataka,
Shivashankarappa's remarks, made during a party workers' meeting, implied that women should be confined to the kitchen and questioned Gayathri's capability to understand the city's issues.
Saina, an Olympic medalist, condemned Shivashankarappa's comments, labeling them as sexist. She expressed disappointment, particularly because such remarks contradicted the campaign slogan of the Congress party, "Ladki Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon" (I am a girl, I am empowered).
