Grand Shobha Yatra commemorates Hanuman Jayanti

Hyderabad, Apr 23 (UNI) A grand procession, known as the Shobha Yatra, took place across various parts of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti, the auspicious occasion marking the birth of Lord Hanuman, on Tuesday.

The primary Shobha Yatra commenced this morning from Lord Rama's temple in Gowliguda. Spanning a distance of 12 kilometers and traversing numerous main streets, the yatra is set to conclude at the renowned Sree Veeranjaneya Swamy temple at Tadbund in Secunderabad late this evening.

Several processions originating from Rama and Hanuman temples in different areas of the twin cities merged with the primary Shobha Yatra along its route.

Thousands of devotees, including members of the Bajrang Dal and VHP, adorned in saffron-colored caps and carrying flags bearing the images of Lord Hanuman, actively participated in the processions.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the celebrations, police enforced unprecedented security measures to maintain peace and order.

In light of the processions associated with Hanuman Jayanti, traffic restrictions were also implemented on several roads.
