SWR runs three special Kisan Rails to help farmers sell their produce

Hubballii, 04 Oct (UNI) Within a period two weeks, the South Western Railway (SWR) has successfully ran Three special Kisan Rails between Bengaluru and Adarsh Nagar (Near New Delhi) Stations carrying a total of more than 175 tonnes of Agricultural products helping the Farmers of Karnataka State to sell their produce especially perishable items to buyers outside their state, according to a press release issued by the SWR here today.
In all, a total of Three Special Kisan Trains were operated until now with the first Kisan special departing Bengaluru to Adarsh Nagar Station on 19 Sep 20 via Mysore, Hubballi and Pune covering a distance of 2716 KM’s journey in 56 hours and 45 minutes, carrying mainly Agriculture produce. However, The Trains also carried Mixed parcels like Live fish, Dry coconuts, betel leaves, Household articles, Motor Cycles, Tarpaulins, copra and Coir products, the press release added. The Second Train had left Bengalure on 26 Sep 20, while the third Kisan Special Train had left Bengaluru yesterday and will reach Adarsh Nagar on Tuesday, the press release added.
Ajay Kumar Singh, General manager of SWR, the Service of the Kisan special Trains are aimed to benefit the Farmers who are the backbone of our nation.
