President Murmu grace Global Spirituality Mahotsav in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Mar 15 (UNI) President Ms Droupadi Murmu graced and addressed the Global Spirituality Mahotsav at Kanha Shanti Vanam here on Friday evening.

Delivering her remarks, the President emphasized the significance of the event's theme, 'From Inner Peace to World Peace,' in today's global context. She highlighted the crucial role of promoting harmony and mutual understanding among individuals of different faiths and sects for the welfare of humanity.

The President underscored the importance of mutual respect and cooperation among followers of various religions for fostering world peace. She emphasized that spiritual consciousness inherently rejects discrimination and division, emphasizing the ethos of unity and equality embedded within our cultural and spiritual traditions.

Drawing from India's rich spiritual heritage, the President emphasized the principle of 'vasudhaiva kutumbakam' (the world is one family), wherein diverse paths are respected as they lead to the same ultimate truth.

She lauded the contributions of spiritual luminaries from Lord Mahavir, Lord Buddha, Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Sant Kabir, Sant Ravidas, and Guru Nanak to Swami Vivekananda, underscoring their role in disseminating spiritual values globally.

Highlighting the integration of spiritual values into politics by Mahatma Gandhi, the President emphasized the transformative power of spirituality in guiding moral conduct and fostering societal well-being. She urged individuals to align their actions with moral ideals and spiritual goals, emphasizing the importance of meditation in controlling the mind and shaping one's destiny.

The President urged individuals to initiate personal transformation and altruistic action to collectively steer humanity towards a brighter future.
