Telangana Min urges massive turnout for Cong 'Jana Jatara Sabha' in Tukkuguda

Hyderabad, Apr 3 (UNI) Telangana Civil Supplies and Irrigation Minister, Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy, has urged for comprehensive arrangements to ensure the success of the 'Jana Jatara Sabha' organized by the Congress party in Tukkuguda on April 6.

Speaking at a press conference held in Suryapet on Wednesday, Reddy revealed that extensive preparations were underway for the event, which not only marks the launch of the Congress party's election campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections but also includes the unveiling of its manifesto. He announced the participation of senior Congress leaders such as Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge at the public meeting.

Appealing to Congress supporters, workers, and well-wishers, Reddy urged them to attend the 'Jana Jatara Sabha' in Tukkuguda in large numbers. He disclosed that over 50,000 individuals from the Nalgonda parliamentary constituency were expected to attend, with arrangements being made accordingly. Reddy also mentioned conducting several meetings with District Congress Committee Presidents, MLAs, and contesting candidates in Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituencies to ensure significant participation.

Reddy emphasized the significance of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, expressing concerns about the state of democracy under BJP rule. He criticized the BJP-led government, highlighting threats to fundamental rights, democratic procedures, and principles under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. Reddy warned of the dangers posed to parliamentary democracy, stressing attacks on democratic institutions and the targeting of opposition leaders by central agencies like the ED, CBI, and IT.

Highlighting the Congress party's historical contributions to India's independence, establishment of democratic systems, and poverty alleviation efforts, Reddy denounced what he perceived as harassment faced by the party, including freezing of bank accounts to impede campaign efforts. He asserted that defeating the BJP was crucial to safeguarding democracy.

Reddy projected the Tukkuguda meeting as a historic event, where Congress leaders would outline strategies to protect democracy and foster community growth.

Criticising the BJP's governance, Reddy accused the party of failing to address pressing issues such as inflation, housing shortages, unemployment, and agricultural challenges. He cited unfulfilled promises, including job creation and doubling farmers' income, as examples of BJP's ineffective governance. Reddy also lamented the BJP's failure to fulfill commitments made to Telangana under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act.

Assuring the Congress party's performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Reddy predicted victory in approximately 13-14 seats. He expressed confidence in securing a significant majority in the Nalgonda constituency.

Reddy informed about the establishment of 7,149 procurement centers across Telangana to purchase paddy at Minimum Support Price (MSP), warning against attempts to procure below MSP.

He criticized former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for alleged misinformation regarding power and water supply, attributing present drought conditions to mismanagement by the previous regime. Despite challenges, Reddy assured effective management of the water situation by the Congress Government.

Providing comparative figures of water availability in major reservoirs, Reddy highlighted a significant decline, emphasizing the Congress Government's efforts to avert a major crisis.

Reddy affirmed the Congress party's commitment to upholding democracy, addressing public grievances, and fostering inclusive growth, urging strong support from the public at the forthcoming 'Jana Jatara Sabha' in Tukkuguda.
