Hyderabad, Apr 11 (UNI) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) senior vice-president and Election Commission Coordination Committee chairman, G Niranjan, expressed astonishment over re-arrest of BRS MLC Kavita, who has already been in judicial custody in Tihar Jail in an ED case, by CBI on Thursday, describing it as ‘a BJP witch-hunt’.
"Those who do wrong deserve to be punished. We are not denying it, but the people will not appreciate denial of temporary bail to Kavitha, the daughter of former CM KCR, on the ground of her son's exams, which should have been granted on humanitarian grounds," Niranjan said in a press release here.
Kavitha's name in the charge-sheet of the Delhi Liquor case appeared on December 15, 2022, but after delaying for so many days and arresting Delhi CM Kejriwal and Kavitha just before the general elections, the integrity of the investigating agencies has become questionable and it is proved that they (Investigating Agencies) are ‘in the hands of the ruling BJP party at the Centre’, he said.
