Former CM KCR urges Govt support for struggling farmers

Hyderabad, Apr 5 (UNI) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) demanded immediate government support for farmers facing hardship in the state, attributing their plight to the policies of the Congress party.
Addressing the media in Siricilla after inspecting drought-affected crops in Karimnagar and Rajanna Siricilla districts, KCR highlighted the dire situation faced by farmers due to the unavailability of water across almost all districts. He urged the state government to extend support to farmers by providing compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the families of those who died and Rs 25,000 per acre for dried crops.
KCR revealed that nearly 15-20 lakh acres of crops have withered due to inadequate irrigation, blaming the Congress government's mismanagement of irrigation water and poor power supply, which led to burnt pump sets.
