AP: YSRCP MP, MLA quit party, join TDP

Vijayawada, Mar 2 (UNI) The Jagan Mohan Reddy headed ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh continue to suffer blow after blow ahead of the general elections as YSRCP leaders including an MP and MLA have quit the party on Saturday and joined the opposition Telugu Desam Party.
YSRCP MP and Nellore district party president Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy quit the YSRCP and joined the Telugu Desam Party in Nellore.
A large number of YSRCP leaders including Nellore city deputy mayor Roop Kumar and a large number of corporators and village sarpanches also joined the TDP along with Prabhakar Reddy.
Telugu Desam Party National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu admitted them into the TDP by wrapping scarves at a programme organized in Nellore on the occasion.
Addressing the cadres on the occasion, Chandrababu Naidu said that Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy’s joining the TDP would bolster the party in the Nellore region and it would help winning a large number of seats in the region.
He said that all leaders in the TDP were welcoming him into the party.
“Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is harassing those who questioned his misdeeds and massive corruption. He feels that he is the master and all others are slaves.
The YSRCP President harassed his party leaders for questioning the misdeeds keeping in view the party’s prospects,” Naidu alleged.
The YSRCP should be defeated for the progress of AP, the former CM told his cadres, stating that Jagan Mohan Reddy did not deserve to be the Chief Minister.
The TDP Chief predicted some more YSRCP leaders would quit the party after election notification was issued.
It may be mentioned here that YSRCP MPs Lavu Sri Krishnadevaraya, V Balashowry, Maganta Srinivasa Reddy and K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju have quit the YSRCP.
Lavu Sri Krishnadevaraya announced that he would join the TDP while another MP Balshowri joined the Jana Sena party.
