Telangana CM mourns death of veteran news reader Shanti Swaroop

Hyderabad, Apr 5 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday expressed condolences on the demise of the first Telugu news reader on Doordarshan Shanti Swaroop.

In a statement, the Chief Minister remembered Shanti Swaroop as a pioneer in Telugu news broadcasting, whose name became synonymous with credibility and trust among Telugu audiences. Swaroop, who was admitted to Yashoda Hospital two days ago due to a heart ailment, passed away while undergoing treatment. He had dedicatedly served as a news reader from 1983 for nearly three decades until his retirement in 2011.
