Party wants Kumaraswamy to contest from Mandya: JDS Youth Prez

Party wants Kumaraswamy to contest from Mandya: JDS Youth Prez

Bengaluru, March 24 (UNI) JDS Youth Wing President Nikhil Kumaraswamy on Sunday stressed that discussions regarding KHD Kumaraswamy's potential candidacy in Mandya parliamentary constituency should be led by the party's National President HD Deve Gowda and HD Kumaraswamy themselves.

While acknowledging the opinions of party cadres and leaders, he stressed the importance of senior leadership in making such decisions.
"I think we have had many interactions with our party cadre and leaders. Everybody's opinion is that former CM HD Kumaraswamy should contest from Mandya. But I think the right people to take this call are our party's national president HD Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy," he told reporters when he asked a related question.
Nikhil Kumaraswamy mentioned that three Lok Sabha constituencies, including Hassan, Kolar, and Mandya, were announced the previous day, aligning with their expectations.

He indicated that there was significant activity among JDS Mandya cadres, particularly at the meeting held at JP Nagar's house.
"Three Lok Sabha constituencies have been announced yesterday. We have got Hassan, Kolar and Mandya as expected. Today, a lot of JDS Mandya cadres came to JP Nagar house," he said.
He also expressed support for the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) in Karnataka, citing their hold and cadre in 18 out of 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.

He mentioned that this decision comes with clearance from Deve Gowda, and they openly support Narendra Modi for a third term as Prime Minister, expressing a desire to see him serve the nation again.

"Out of 28 Lok Sabha segments in Karnataka, JDS has got hold and cadre in 18 Lok Sabha constituencies which is a huge number. So, this time we are part of NDA, the only reason is that HD Deve Gowda Sahab has given clearance and we have given open support.

"We want to see Narendra Modiji a third time Prime Minister of this country and serving the nation. So all of the youth, especially the women and all of the senior members everybody and farmers."
However, he noted that his father, former Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy, had recently undergone heart surgery and was recuperating after returning from Chennai Apollo Hospital. He also stressed that his father needed rest.
"My father (HD Kumaraswamy) has just arrived from Chennai Apollo Hospital. He has had a heart surgery. So, he is just taking some rest," he said. UNI BDN AKS
