Hyderabad, Oct 9 (UNI) A boy, resident of Handia at Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, who went missing from his home for more than five years has been traced at a child home of Child Welfare Centre (CWC) at Goalpara in Assam win the help of ‘ Darpan, ’a face Recognition Tool developed by Telangana police.
The boy identified as Som Soni , who was missing from his home on July 14, 2015, was spotted by Golapara Police of Assam on July 23, 2015 and was admitted into the local Child Welfare Centre (CWC), Telangana state Additional Director General of Police (Women Safety including She Teams and Bharosa centres), Swati Lakra said in a release here on Friday.
Telangana state police while using the Face Recognition Tool (Darpan) to match Missing children’s photographs with those of children found at various child homes across the country detected the missing boy by matching his photos, she said.
