Court slams private hospitals over collecting high charges for Covid treatment

Kochi, May 10 (UNI) Kerala High Court on Monday denounced the private hospitals over collecting exorbitant charges for providing Covid treatment.
A division bench of the court headed by Justice Devan Ramachandran while considering a plea against the private hospitals in Kerala over charging high rate for Covid treatment, said the private hospitals cannot justify themselves over the exorbitant charges.
In the present situation, ordinary people are facing a lot of problems. The health department is 100 percent prepared while handling the crisis. They should be appreciated for it. But charging high rates from patients is a serious mistake, the court observed.
