Nun rape case; Court rejects discharge appeal of Bishop Franco Mulakkal

Kochi, Jul 07 (UNI) Justice V Shircy of Kerala High Court on Tuesday dismissed the discharge petition filed by Bishop Franco Mulakkal and pointed out that the bishop must face trial in the case.
The bishop approached the court after Kottayam sessions court rejected his appeal. The court refused to accept the argument of the accused that the case will not sustain in the court.
The court observed that evidence in the charge sheet against the bishop was sufficient to initiate trial. Based on this observation, the court dismissed the discharge petition.
