DyCM Shivakumar flays PM Modi for discriminatory speech

Bengaluru, April 22 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has raised concerns over the actions or statements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting potential discrimination.
Shivakumar emphasised that the Prime Minister, as the head of the country has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution, which enshrines the principles of equality and fairness.
"The Prime Minister should be aware that he has taken an oath to the Constitution. As the Head of the country, he should treat all people equally without differentiation. Sending divisive messages across the country and the world is unfair and sends a negative message," he told a section of media here on Monday.
Shivakumar was commenting on Modi's remarks against the Congress party's manifesto promises. The PM alleged that the Congress party intends to implement policies that would seize immovable assets and women's gold and distribute them among various groups.
"They want to snatch the gold of the women and distribute it among the people. When Congress was in power, Manmohan Singh had said the first right over our resources was that of Muslims. They will not spare even your Mangal Sutra. They will take your money and give it to those who have more children.
"To the illegal immigrants… They will distribute them to Muslims who they said have the first right to resources. They will go to the extent where they will not spare even your Mangal Sutra."
PM Modi made these remarks in election rallies in Jalore and Banswara in Rajasthan on Sunday.
