Dr. T. S. Rao honored by the Society of Surgical Oncology, USA

Hyderabad, Mar 26 (UNI) Dr. T. Subramanyeshwar Rao, Medical Director and Chief Surgical Oncologist at Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (BIACH&RI), was recognized by the Society of Surgical Oncology of the USA for his significant contributions to the advancement of cancer surgery, serving as an ambassador for Lancet’s Global Oncology Commission.
Dr. TS Rao received this prestigious acknowledgement during his invitation to present a talk on "Training Cancer Surgeons in South Asia" at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Society of Surgical Oncology, USA, held at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia.
In his lecture, Dr. TS Rao shared insights from his experiences and emphasized the importance of enhancing training for cancer surgeons in South Asia. He underscored the necessity for regional collaboration in providing cross-border training opportunities and outlined India's potential leadership role in the region. Additionally, he discussed the imperative of establishing a standardized global curriculum and advocating for a unified approach to combating cancer.
