35 new cases in the UT in 24 hrs

Puducherry, Nov 7 (UNI) As many as 35 more persons were tested positive for Coronavirus Disease (COVID 19) in the last 24 hours ending at 10 AM on Sunday taking the tally of infection 128200 in the union territory.

There were no deaths during the period and the death toll remained 1862.

According to the Covid 19 status for Sunday released by the health department, of the 2534 swab tests taken yesterday,35 tested positive for the virus.14 new cases were reported in Puducherry region,12 in Karaikal,four in Yanam and five in Mahe regions.44 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours .34 of them were from Puducherry region,eight from Karaikal and two from Mahe regions.

Presently,45 persons are being treated in Puducherry region,five in Karaikal,two in Yanam and eight in Mahe regions.Another,235 positive cases are under home isolation in all the four regions of the union territory.

So far, 128200 persons are infected by the virus of which 126043 were treated and discharged and 1862 died leaving 295 active cases here.

The test positivity rate in the UT is 1.38 percent,case fatality rate 1.45 percent and recovery rate 98.32 percent.

As many as 1139111 doses of Covid vaccine were administered to the health care workers,frontline workers and the general public in the union territory so far.
