Puducherry,Nov 11(UNI) Opposition N R Congress legislator Sugumaran elected from Mangalam constituency was tested positive for Coronavirus Disease (COVID 19)on Tuesday.
Mr.Sugumaran partook in several government functions along with chief minister V Narayanasmay and PWD minister A Namasivayam on Monday and he experienced throat pain yesterday.Following this he gave a swab test and the result proved him positive for the virus.
He rushed to Chennai last evening and got admitted in a private hospital for treatment.
It may be noted that ministers Kandasamy and Kamalakannan ,legislators Jayamurthy,N S J Jayabal,Anandaraman, and Bhaskar and PCC president A V Subramanian were infected by the virus earlier and recovered from the disease while,former minister Ezhumalai,N R Congress general secretary V Bhalan and Makkal Neethi Maiam state president Dr. M A S Subramanian died of COVID 19.
