Chennai, Apr 4 (UNI) After 33 years, three convicts in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, who were released by the Supreme Court, were deported back to Sri Lanka.
All the three--Murugan alias Sriharan, Robert Payas and Jayakumar--were Sri Lankan Nationals.
The trio, who were prematurely freed from prison and then lodged at a special camp in Tiruchi, were deported to Sri Lanka last evening after completing all the formalities, fulfilling their long time wish.
