Entire documentary archives of TN Assembly to be digitalised to mark centenary

Chennai, Aug 13 (UNI) Fortifying the role of the Legislature,
Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan today
announced an initiative to completely digitalize the entire
documentary archives and record of the historic Assembly
from its inception in 1921.
Presenting his maiden budget in the House, he said as an
observance of the 100th anniversary of the Assembly, an
initiative will be undertaken to completely digitize the entire
documentary archives and records of this historic house
from its inception in 1921.
To help strengthen the functioning of the Finance Committees of
the Assembly (Estimates, Public Accounts and Public Undertakings)
a computerized special secretariat will be created and staffed with
the appropriate resources, he added.
