Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), April 15 (UNI) Hitting out at the ruling DMK over the drug menace, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that the BJP will save the younger generation from the deep-rooted drug trade in Tamil Nadu.
"The State is witnessing corruption of family-run party. The BJP will save the younger generation from the deep-rooted drug trade in Tamil Nadu which is being done with the blessings of people in power," said Modi in an apparent reference to the arrest of expelled DMK functionary A.K.Jaffer Sadiq, the alleged mastermind of an international drug smuggling racket worth Rs 2,000 crore busted by the Narcotics Control Bureau last month.
Addressing an election rally at Ambasamudram here in support of NDA candidates from Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi and Thoothukudi Lok Sabha constituencies, the PM said Tamil Nadu is suffering greatly from the "corruption and scams" of family-run parties. "The whole country now knows how the DMK and Congress are anti-national," he said.
