LS Polls: over 60k cops, 145 CAPG companies to be deployed in Telangana: CEO

Hyderabad, Mar 18 (UNI) Over 60,000 security personnel will be deployed for the smooth conduct of a single phase of general elections for 17 parliamentary constituencies in Telangana State on May 13.
In all, 145 CAPF companies of Central Armed Police Forces will also be deployed during the LS polls, said Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj in a press conference here on Monday.
In Telangana as on March 17, 2024, the total electorate stands at 3.30 crore voters, including over 8.67 lakh young voters between 18 and 19 age groups, over 1.94 lakh electors above 85 years of age, and 5.26 lakh PWD voters, he said.
