BRS chief announces Padma Rao Goud as Secunderabad candidate for Parl elections

Hyderabad, Mar 23 (UNI) President of the Bharatiya Rashtriya Samithi (BRS) and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) declared on Saturday that former Minister Padma Rao Goud will be the party's candidate for the Secunderabad parliamentary constituency elections slated for May 13.
The decision regarding Goud's candidature was reached after consulting with leaders from the constituency, confirming his nomination for the upcoming polls.
Goud, who previously served as a Congress Corporator until 1991, joined the BRS in 2001. He has held various positions within the party, including serving as the Hyderabad party president and winning as a BRS Corporator in 2002. Goud was elected as the Secunderabad BRS MLA in 2004 but faced defeat in the 2009 elections against Congress leader Marri Sashidhar Reddy.
