Kerala records 70.35 % voter turnout in Lok Sabha election

Thiruvananthapuram, April 26 (UNI) Kerala recorded 70.35 percent polling in the single phase Lok Sabha election covering all 20 constituencies on Friday.
According to the latest data available with the State Election Commission office at 8.15 pm, Thiruvananthapuram recorded 66.43 percent polling, Attingal 69.40, Kollam 67.92, Pathanamthitta 63.35, Mavelikkara 65.88, Alappuzha 74.37, Kottayam 65.59, Idukki 66.39, Ernakulam 68.10, Chalakkudy 71.68, Thrissur 72.11, Palakkad 72.68, Alathur 72.66, Ponnani 67.93, Malappuram 71.68, Kozhikode 73.34, Wayanad 72.85, Vadakara 73.36, Kannur 75.74, Kasaragod 74..28
Out of 2,77,49,159 voters, 1,95,22259 (70.35%) people have exercised their franchise. A total of 93,59,093 (69.76%) male, 1,01,63,023 (70.90%) women and 143 (38.96%) transgenders have cast their votes today.
Kerala recorded 77.67% polling in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and 74.06% in the 2021 Assembly elections.
In 2019, the Congress-led UDF won 19 of the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala. The CPI(M)-led LDF had to settle for just a single seat. The BJP-led NDA having 13 % vote share could not win any seat. UNI DS SSP
