CEO warns strict action against those spreading fake news

Thiruvananthapuram, April 10 (UNI) Strict action will be taken against those spreading fake news related to the elections through social media, according to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sanjay Kaul here on Wednesday.
"It's important to remain vigilant against campaigns that undermine the credibility of the election process. Legal action will be taken against those spreading such news," the CEO said.
Media monitoring cells are operational at the office of the CEO and at the district level to continuously monitor social media as well as audio-visual and print media.
