PM inaugurates, lays foundation stone for development works worth Rs 56k cr in Telangana

Adilabad (Telangana), Mar 4 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for a multitude of developmental projects encompassing the power, rail, and road sectors, collectively valued at more than Rs 56,000 crore, in Adilabad, Telangana, on Monday.
Addressing the gathered audience, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of Adilabad as a hub for national development, with more than 30 projects, totaling over Rs 56,000 crores, either dedicated to the nation or having their foundation stones laid on this day.
These projects span various domains, including energy, environmental sustainability, and road connectivity within the state.
During his speech, the Prime Minister acknowledged the ten-year partnership between the Central Government and Telangana, emphasising the government's commitment to supporting the state in realizing the aspirations of its citizens.
He announced the inauguration of the 800 MW capacity NTPC Unit 2, contributing to Telangana's enhanced electricity generation.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the completion of electrification for the Ambari - Adilabad - Pimpalkhuti rail lines and the initiation of two major National Highway projects in Adilabad, Bela, and Mulugu.
He stressed that these modern rail and road projects would not only propel Telangana's development but also benefit the entire region, reducing travel time, fostering tourism, and creating numerous employment opportunities.
Emphasising the mantra of national development through state progress, the Prime Minister expressed optimism about India's economic growth, citing the country's impressive 8.4 percent growth in the last quarter.
He asserted that this pace would position India as the world's third-largest economy, bringing substantial economic growth to states like Telangana.
Reflecting on the government's commitment to inclusive development, the Prime Minister noted the substantial increase in allocations for the development of Telangana over the past decade. He reiterated that development, for the government, meant uplifting the poorest of the poor, including the dalit, tribals, backward, and deprived sections of society.
The Prime Minister attributed the success of welfare schemes to the significant reduction in poverty, benefiting more than 25 crore people.
The Prime Minister assured that such development campaigns would be further amplified in the next five years.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including the Governor of Telangana, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister of Telangana, Revantha Reddy, and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy.
