Hyd: GRP seizes Rs 37.50 lakh in cash at Secunderabad Railway Station

Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) The Government Railway Police (GRP) have confiscated a net sum of Rs 37.50 lakhs, predominantly in Rs 500 notes, at Secunderabad Railway Station.
Amid preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, GRP Secunderabad, in collaboration with RPF personnel, conducted a routine inspection on Platform No. 1 of the railway station on Sunday evening around 1820 hours. During the inspection, passenger P Laxman Ram (45), a resident of Theradi Street, Maduranthakam, Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, was found in possession of net cash of Rs 37.50 lakhs, according to an official statement issued on Monday.
Upon questioning, the passenger failed to produce any valid documentation or provide satisfactory explanations regarding the source of the cash. Consequently, the cash was seized under the authority of a panchanama.
