AP CM orders CID probe over temple attacks

Vijayawada, Jan 4 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Endowment Vellampalli Srinivas Rao said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered for investigation by the CID over the attacks and vandalizing of idols of deities in the Ramatheertha temple in Vizainagaram district and at Subramanya Swamy temple at Rajamahendravaram in EG district.
Talking to the media here on Monday, the minister said that the police collected clues on the attack and destruction of the Srirama idol in the Ramatheertham temple and the culprits would be arrested by two or three days.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with the higher officials today on the attacks on the temples and destruction of idols of deities. The attacks on temples and destruction of idols of Hindu gods are a sensitive issue and the government had taken it as seriously, the minister informed.
