New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) The Congress Member Dr L Hanumanthaiah on Tuesday said that the Prevention of Anti-Social Act (PASA Act) of Union Territory of Lakshadweep has been infringing upon people constitutional rights.
Raising this issue during the Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Mr Hanumanthaiah said that the UT of Lakshadweep has about 70,000 populations with a very low crime rate.
“The PASA Act should be kept in abeyance since the existing laws are more than enough to deal with the crimes happening in the territory as the people are very peaceful and having a low crime rate”, Mr Hanumanthaiah added.
