Delhi liquor policy controversy echoes in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, August 2 (UNI) South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri on Tuesday talked about alleged corruption by ministers in Delhi and Punjab, and also raised the issue of Delhi's excise policy, triggering protest from Opposition MPs in Lok Sabha.

Bidhuri, making zero hour mentions, said he would not name the person, but a "vishesh prani" (unique creature) was brought in Delhi, in an apparent reference to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
He said a government was formed under this person in Punjab, and a minister was found to be involved in 'corruption'. BJP MP then mentioned the excise policy of Delhi, which has been in the eye of controversy with both BJP and Congress in the state questioning it.

Some Congress MPs, including Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, protested against the reference made by the MP, and demanded that it be expunged.
Bidhuri responded to Chowdhury saying, "Your leader also went to jail", irking the Congress MPs.
Chowdhury, meanwhile, said a 'slip of tongue' by him had resulted in huge protests by the ruling party MPs in the House, and asked the Chair to expunge certain remarks.
The lower house soon resumed the zero hour. However, Bidhuri stood up after some time, and said Delhi is being 'looted', and urged that he be given some assurance.
As Bidhuri's remarks triggered a ruckus, Rajendra Agrawal, who was in the Chair, adjourned the House till 2 pm.
