Demand for his resignation, creation of media: Tejaswi

Patna, Jul 17 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Prasad Yadav today dismissed the demand of his resignation again, saying it was a non existent issue and only a creation of media after the CBI lodged FIR against him in connection with alleged corrupt practices in leasing out Railway hotels to private parties during the regime of RJD chief Lalu Prasad as Railway Minister in 2006. Mr Yadav, after casting his vote in Presidential elections, told the media in assembly premises that demand for his resignation in the wake of FIR registered against him by CBI, was non existent issue and it was only a creation of media. "I have clarified on several occasions about the charges leveled against me by the CBI", Deputy chief minister said, adding that he was not required to repeat same things again and again. The refusal of Mr Yadav to accept demand for his resignation has further strained the relation of RJD with JD(U) as several leaders close to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had been demanding resignation, by citing examples of several ministers losing the jobs earlier in similar circumstances. Mr Kumar had never compromised on his principle of zero tolerance against corruption and he would not do so in future as well, JD(U) leaders pointed out. As it is, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi and other leaders of opposition parties had been demanding resignation of Mr Yadav as Deputy chief minister since the CBI registered a case against him and also conducted raids at the residence of RJD chief Mr Prasad and 11 other locations across the country. The case was registered by the CBI in connection with irregularities committed in leasing out Railway hotels to private parties during the regime of Mr Prasad as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009.
