New Delhi, Apr 8 (UNI) Parts of East, Central and adjoining Peninsular India are expected to witness heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds for the next 4-5 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday.
According to IMD, “Scattered light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the next 7 days, with the possibility of heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh on Monday and Tuesday.”
“Scattered to fairly widespread moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and winds gusting up to 50 kmph are very likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Bihar today and will decrease in intensity thereafter,” the IMD said.
