New Delhi, Apr 23 (UNI) Voting began this morning for the three Municipal Corporations in Delhi with a total of 2,537 candidates trying their luck in what looks to be a fierce electoral battle to gain control of the civic body in the national Capital. Over 1.3 crore-strong electorate will today decide the fortunes of the aspirants drawn from BJP, Congress, AAP and other political outfits. The polling which began at 0800 hours in more than 13,000 polling stations in different parts of the capital amid tight security arrangements, will continue till 1730 hours. Around 13 lakh Government employees are on duty. The State Election Commission is conducting the elections on Generation-1 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and none of the above (NOTA) option has been introduced for the first time in the civic polls. Out of 272 seats of the three Municipal Corporations, election for two seats were cancelled following the death of contestants. The two wards are Maujpur and Sarai Pipal Thala. More UNI DS AKC 0821
