SC grants bail to Purohit in Malegaon blast case

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) The Supreme Court today granted bail to Col Shrikant Purohit in the 2008 Malegaon blast case which had left six people dead and nearly 100 others injured. The apex court bench, headed by Justice RK Agarwal, granted bail to Purohit, who has served almost eight years in jail in the said case. The Supreme Court said all terms and conditions remained same as with other accused in the case Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur. Six people were killed and nearly 100 others injured when a bomb strapped to a motorcycle had exploded in Malegaon town of Nashik district on September 29, 2008. Sadhvi Pragya was earlier granted bail by the Bombay High Court whereas the High Court had rejected Purohit's bail. UNI XC SW SB SNU 1618
