New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) After announcing a slew of guarantees for farmers, youth, SCs and STs, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in a bid to woo women voters on Wednesday, announced five 'Nari Nyay' guarantees including Rs one lakh to women from poor families.
Through a video message, Kharge said that the Congress party's guarantees are not hollow like the BJP. Rahul Gandhi took forward the 'Nari Nyay' guarantee at the Mahila Melawa meeting in Dhule.
He said under the Nari Nyay, the party will give five guarantees that include Mahalakshmi, where Rs one lakh annually would be given to women from poorest families which would be through direct cash transfer.
The Rajya Sabha MP said that under the 'Aadhi aabaadi, poora haq' guarantee, half of all recruitments will be reserved for women in central government jobs.
Kharge also said that under the ⁠'Shakti ka Samman' if it comes to power then the government will double the central government's contribution to ASHA, Anganwadi and mid-day meal workers.
Elaborating on 'Adhikar Maitri'. every Panchayat will have a Adhikar Maitri who will serve as paralegal to educate women.
For the last gaurantee 'Savitri bai Phule Hostels', the Congress President said that Central Government will double the number of working womens’ hostels in the country, with at least one hostel in each district.
Kharge said that the party has a record since 1926 of making manifestos and fulfilling those declarations, even when the opponents were not born.
He also urged the people to keep blessing the party and strengthen its hand in its fight to save democracy and the Constitution.
