New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) Congress on Tuesday lashed out at the government over the stand-off with China.
The grand old party said the 13th round of Corps Commander-level meeting was held between Indian and Chinese Military and there was no agreement coming out of it.
'The Chinese have been brazenly entering Indian Territory, while our Jawans at the borders are bravely stopping, but this government and especially the Prime Minister is scared of even taking the name of China and holding them accountable?,' Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said in a statement.
He said the Ministry of External Affairs statement yesterday stipulates that the situation along the LAC had been caused by “unilateral attempts of the Chinese side to alter the status quo and in violation of bilateral agreements. It was therefore necessary that the Chinese side take appropriate steps in the remaining areas so as to restore peace and tranquility”.
The Congress party questioned that 'Why did PM Modi lie to the country stating that no Chinese had entered into Indian Territory?'
'How did over 100 Chinese troops enter 5 kms into Indian Sovereign Territory near Barahoti crossing the Tun Jun La pass in Uttarakhand and stay there for over three hours on August 30, 2021?' the Congress questioned.
