‘Perturbed’ PM Modi giving 'communal colours' to Nyay Patra: Ramesh

‘Perturbed’ PM Modi giving 'communal colours' to Nyay Patra: Ramesh

New Delhi, April 25 (UNI) The Congress on Thursday alleged that ‘perturbed’ by the trends of the first phase of Lok Sabha election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to give ‘communal colours’ to the grand old party's Nyay Patra.

Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters here, party general secretary in-charge communication, Jairam Ramesh said, “Due to fear of losing the election, Modi was trying to give communal colours to our Nyay Patra. Let me make it clear that Congress Party manifesto does not have anything called Inheritance Tax or Wealth Redistribution. I challenge the Prime Minister to show where it has been mentioned in our Nyay Patra”.

Stating that there was no mention of ‘Inheritance Tax’ in the Nyay Patra of Congress Party, the senior Congress leader said, “This is not our agenda. The reality is that in 1985, former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had abolished the inheritance Tax. Many BJP leaders had advocated this between 2014-19 and today the Prime Minister is blaming us”.

He said, “It is clear from the trends of the first phase of election that the BJP’s performance is going to decline drastically. At some places the party is going to be halved and somewhere it will be completely wiped out”.

The Rajya Sabha MP said, “Due to fear of losing, Modi has diverted the agenda of the election. He has also stopped raising the slogan od ‘400 paar’ and ‘Modi ki Guarantee”.

Ramesh asserted that the Congress party has prepared the Nyay Patra after listening to the voices of the people during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and Bharat Jodo Yatra.

“In the last 10 years, due to the policies of PM Modi, unemployment has increased in the country, there is no control on the inflation and economic inequality has also increased in the society. With our 'five Nyay 25 guarantees', we are contesting this Lok Sabha election and on June 4, we will get full majority and form the government,” the former Union Minister said.

Stating that the PM’s mention of the Congress’ Nyay Patra garnered publicity but negative one, Ramesh said, “Modi wants to take us to a pitch he wants us to play, but we will play our pitch where there is justice for all, economic and social equality”.

He claimed that even the RBI figured showed that people have taken loan of Rs one lakh crore from banks by mortgaging their gold.

The Congress General Secretary further added that the party always believed in ‘Satyamev Jayate’ while Prime Minister Modi believed in ‘Asatyamev Jayate’.
