Cong holds nationwide protest in front of different Raj Bhavans, accuses Centre of trying to topple Gehlot govt in Rajasthan

New Delhi, Jul 27 (UNI) Accusing the BJP government at the Centre of trying to topple the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan through misusing the high constitutional office of the Governor, Congress on Monday held a nationwide protest in front of different Raj Bhavans in the country, demanding Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra to convene the state assembly session.
In a statement here, AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal said, ''Congress Party MPs, MLAs, Office Bearers, leaders and workers sitting on dharna demanded that the Rajasthan Governor convenes the Rajasthan Assembly, as advised by the state Cabinet.
''It may be recalled that it was during the COVID-19 pandemic, that BJP toppled the democratically-elected Congress government in Madhya Pradesh, and now similarly, they were desperately trying to bring down a model government, which earned accolades from the world over for efficiently managing COVID-19,'' Mr Venugopal said.
