New Delhi, Jul 24 (UNI) The newly-elected Haryana BJP president Om Prakash Dhankar on Friday said the journey from ordinary to extraordinary can be successful only in the saffron party.
Interacting with reporters here at the Haryana Bhawan, Mr Dhankar said in the BJP, youth can reach places with their hard work with sacrifice, penance and patience.
He said the last person in the queue can progress and reach places, and this is only possible in the BJP.
Fifty-eight-year-old Mr Dhankar, a former MLA from Badli, was minister for agriculture and farmers' welfare in the previous Manohar Lal Khattar cabinet. He was appointed as the president of the Haryana unit on July 19.
Former president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah wished the newly appointed State President on assuming the new responsibility.

'I hope BJP Haryana will get new energy and strength under the leadership of Shri Dhankharji who is dedicated to the interests of farmers and poor and the organization will reach every corner of the state,' Mr Shah said in his tweet.
In reply tweet, Mr Dhankar expressed gratitude to Mr Shah who, 'strengthened national unity by abolishing Sections 370 and 35A.'
Earlier in the day, Mr Dhankar met National General Secretary, Rajya Sabha MP and in-charge of BJP Haryana Anil Jain, and party general secretary (organisation) B L Santosh.
Taking potshots at the Congress, Mr Dhankar said disillusionment and frustration with the Congress has increased.
Mr Dhankar appealed to the youth to join the saffron party. He maintained that there are two types of politics -- personality-based and organisation-based, and in Haryana, BJP has converted person-based into organisation based politics.
Talking about historic amendment to the Essential Commodities Act, Mr Dhankar said this is a visionary step towards transformation of agriculture and raising farmers’ income.
'The Centre has made big improvements in agriculture, farmers will get direct marketing opportunity,' he maintained. The freedom to produce, hold, move, distribute and supply will lead to harnessing of economies of scale and attract private sector and foreign direct investment into agriculture sector.
The farmer himself can decide the price of his produce, he stressed, adding that some people are spreading misconceptions about this.
