AAP accuses BJP of misusing ED to hide corruption in electoral bonds

AAP accuses BJP of misusing ED to hide corruption in electoral bonds

New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged on Tuesday that the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party is misusing the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to cover up their corruption in electoral bonds ahead of the elections.
Addressing the press conference here, AAP Delhi state convener Goal Rai said, “BJP's ED is trying to create a perception of Arvind Kejriwal's arrest by issuing a press release. ED is not waiting for the court's decision and is sending summons after summons. Because their Electoral Bond corruption has come to the fore in front of the country,” he asserted.
“If the truth about Electoral Bond comes out in front of the country, then the BJP's slogan of '400 par' may not remain 40 par,” Rai said.
“The way BJP spokespersons are giving statements on the ongoing process in the court and the decisions of the court, Kejriwal ji getting bail does not mean relief. It is visible that despite the hearing date of the 1st, the 9th summons has been sent to the court,” Rai added.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Atishi claimed that the BJP is scared of the AAP Chief. This is the reason Narendra Modi, by making ED a political weapon, is creating an environment to get Arvind Kejriwal arrested through press releases.
If Modi ji has courage, then he should contest elections in the name of work, not by hiding behind ED, Atishi added.
The party leader, Saurabh Bharadwaj, said, “ED should also remain neutral, or at least appear so.”
"ED stated in a press release that in exchange for these favors, BRS leader K. Kavitha was involved in paying ₹100 crores to leaders of AAP. While the BJP was alleging a scam worth several thousand crores, ultimately, ED stated it was ₹100 crores,” he said.
He further asserted, “Everyone knows that ED has conducted 500+ raids regarding excise policy, the testimony of more than a thousand people has been taken, and more than 50,000 pages of documents have been filed in the chargesheet.”
“Despite this, not a single rupee was recovered anywhere; ED could not show proof of even a single rupee. This case is still going on on empty allegations,” he said.
